General Description - From this page, you may view the order of selection for the upcoming draft. Draft order is based on the previous season's regular season winning percentage. The worst team gets the first pick. If multiple teams have the same winning percentage, the tiebreaker is run differential then runs scored then coin flip. In season 1, the order is based on the average overall rating of your entire organization.

Season - You may select the current Hardball Dynasty season or any previous Hardball Dynasty season in this world from which you would like to view the draft order.

Round(s) - You may view the order by a block of five rounds listed here. After selecting a season and a block of five rounds to view, please click 'Go' to view the draft order.

Round - This is the round of the pick. Each team receives one selection per round, so there are 32 picks.

Pick - This is the overall number of the selection. For example, if there are no supplemental first round selections, the second pick in the second round will be number 34 because there are 32 picks in the first.

Free Agent/Prospect - This indicates whether the pick changed hands through free agency and, if so, which free-agent was involved in the transaction. When a team loses a Type A free agent it will receive a supplemental pick between the first and second rounds and a first round draft choice from the other team if the other team finished in the top half of the league standings the previous year or its second round pick if the team finished in the bottom half. Type B players result in a supplmental round pick only. If this pick has not changed hands, this column will remain blank.

Former Franchise - This indicates the franchise that originally owned this pick, but lost it through free agency. If this pick has not changed hands, this column will remain blank.

Free-Agent Type - This indicates the type of free-agent that caused this pick to change hands. Type A players are those who rank in the top 20% at their position group in the big leagues (C, 1B/OF/DH, 2B/3B/SS, SP and RP). Type B players rank between 20% and 40% at their position groups in the big leagues.

When a team loses a Type A free agent it will receive a supplemental pick between the first and second rounds and a first round draft choice from the other team if the other team finished in the top half of the league standings the previous year or its second round pick if the team finished in the bottom half.

Type B players result in a supplemental round pick.

Supplemental round picks are indicated by an asterisk next to the round number. For instance, 1* indicates the supplemental round between the first and second round.

A Type "D" pick is the result of a franchise not being able to sign a non-supplemental pick from the first 3 rounds of the previous amateur draft. In order to receive Type "D" compensation, you must offer the draft pick his initial demands, he must refuse to sign the contract, and the contract must never be withdrawn at any time during the current season. If you are unable to sign your first, second, or third round draft pick you will be awarded a compensation pick in next season's amateur draft. The compensation pick will be at the same position as last season plus one except for unsigned third rounders in which a supplemental pick is added at the end of the third round.

For example, if you couldn't sign the 25th pick last season you will have a compensation pick next season and you will have the 26th pick (assuming there were no other Type D insertions prior to that pick).

Compensation Ordering Type A compensation picks are inserted in the proper order (based on the draft order) when the offer is accepted. Supplemental round picks are also inserted at the same time, but they are not re-ordered in the proper order until the day the Amateur Draft prospects are announced.
